What Does the following MRI Scan Report Indicate?

My aunt who is 85 years old has just had an MRI scan and they said she's got a shadow under her armpit where she had an operation to remove a growth 4 months ago. First she had radiation to shrink the tumour in size, then she had it removed. Now they found this shadow. Why will doctors see her again in 4 months time instead of as soon as possible?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.Possibility of recurrence of the mass lesion can be possible.
2.Another possible cause could be lymph nodal enlargement after removal of the growth.
3.Generally its not described as shadow in MRI scan - you are missing some details of the report - type complete report next time.
4.Hypoechoic area with shadowing in the armpit / axillary region is seen in the ultrasound in case of lymph nodal degenerative changes.
5.An FNAC - fine needle aspiration is needed to evaluate the nature of the cells. that will help in further treatment or radiation or operative. Good luck.

Hope i have answered your query.
